You manage a lot in your life. You learn differently now than you did in high school. And you need to apply that knowledge now. At Baldwin Wallace, we’ll work with you to help you reach your goals.
At BW, students meeting one or more of the following criteria may be considered an adult student:
- Undergraduates age 24 years or older
- Starting or returning to college more than four years after high school
- Veteran, active military or reservist
- Considered financially independent for purposes of determining financial aid
- Fulfill multiple adult roles such as parent, spouse/partner, caregiver, employee and student
- Flexible Schedules for Working Adults
-
Accelerate your degree or take it at your own pace. Adults bring a high level of motivation and commitment to their college studies, but the reality is that college has to fit with the rest of your life. At BW, you’ll work one-on-one with an advisor who understands your priorities and helps you find a schedule that works for you, even if that changes from semester to semester.
- Evening classes, just one night a week
- Early mornings – catch an 8 a.m. class before work
- Accelerated eight-week minimester classes
- Accelerated five-day immersion classes
- Online and hybrid classes
- Hybrid classes are primarily online, but also meet a few times on campus during the term.
- Traditional day classes too, if that fits your schedule
- Programs of Study
- A2BW - Associate to Bachelor's Program
-
The Associate to Bachelor Program (A2BW) ensures that your associate degree earns you maximum transfer credit while streamlining completion of your bachelor's degree at Baldwin Wallace University. The A2BW program leads to most bachelor degree programs at Baldwin Wallace. Some BW programs may require that A2BW students complete additional requirements beyond the minimum 60 credits — for example, athletic training, exercise science, Conservatory of Music majors, education majors, and other majors that may lead to professional certification or licensure.
- How Will My Classes Transfer to BW?
-
Learn how courses transfer from more than 80 colleges and universities using the BW online transfer guide. Students also transfer credits from many other accredited schools that may not be included on this online guide.
Maximum credit – Students know BW is committed to ensuring that your hard-earned academic credits count toward your BW degree. There is no limit on the number of credits that can transfer from four-year colleges and universities; however the last 45 credits must be completed at BW. A maximum of 60 semester hours may transfer from two-year or community colleges.
Most courses have no time limit – Many classes qualify for transfer no matter how long ago you took them. However, some areas are more time sensitive, such as accounting, computer science, education and psychology. The registration and records office will evaluate these courses in terms of subject, grade and year taken.
College accreditation and transfer credit – Baldwin Wallace considers transfer credit for courses taken at colleges and universities that are accredited by one of the following regional institutional accrediting organizations:
- Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education (MSA-CHE)
- New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (NEASC-CIHE)
- New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Technical and Career Institutions (NEASC-CTCI)
- Northwest Commission of Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
- North Central Association of Schools and Colleges, The Higher Learning Commission (NCA-HLC)
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS)
- Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (WASC-ACCJC) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities (WASC-ACCSCU)
