Kwiatkowski is the latest in a long line of BW sport management majors who have landed plum internships with the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Cleveland Cavaliers during the regular season and the playoffs. Now he’s hoping the 2016 NBA champions repeat.

"It would be a dream come true," said Kwiatkowski. "To be part of something historic would truly be a special moment. However, at the end of the day, championship or not, the experience is what will be most important to me."

Game Day Duties

On a game day, you might catch a glimpse of Kwiatkowski on Fox Sports Ohio, ESPN or TNT as he makes his way to the media with statistics or notes during the game. Before the Cavs hit the floor, he is responsible for checking media credentials. After the game, he can be found in the visitors’ locker room gathering quotes from players and then transcribing them for sports reporters.

"Game days are fun. It might look dysfunctional or disorganized, but you can bet the public and media relations team at the Cavs is ready to tackle almost any situation. I am having a great experience and learning so much from the professionals."

Additional Pro Sports Experience

In addition to interning with the Cavs, Kwiatkowski has enhanced his classroom curriculum with additional internships with the Cleveland Browns and Gladiators, worked in the BW sports information office and volunteered for a number of charitable events through Cleveland Touchdown Club Charities, Inc.

"I have truly been blessed to have the opportunities I have been given at BW," said Kwiatkowski. "The biggest thing I’ve learned is to not take any experience for granted because you never know what might come of it. I have met so many great people throughout my years at BW, people who have helped me not only grow as a student or student assistant, but as a person."

BW Pro Pipeline

Prior to Kwiatkowski, Dan Rolinc '12, Josh Gresh '13, Will Pantages '13, Andrew Preis '15 and Kevin Hulsmann '16 all served as game day interns for the Cavs.

"My experience has been great," said Kwiatkowski. "Everyone at the Cavs welcomed me into the organization since day one. I have already made many great relationships."

An NBA title would be the cherry on top of an already amazing internship.
