Business Leader Eddie Taylor Jr., to Speak at Fall Commencement

Headshot of Eddie Taylor JrApproximately 186 undergraduate and 94 graduate students will participate in the Baldwin Wallace University Fall Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2 pm, in Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center.

The speaker is Eddie Taylor Jr., president of Taylor Oswald – a minority-owned enterprise and partner of Oswald Companies. Oswald Companies is one of the nation’s largest independent, employee-owned insurance brokerage firms.

A native Clevelander, Taylor is dedicated to the community and its people. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and is committed to help budding businesses succeed.

Prior to establishing Taylor Oswald, Taylor co-founded Collaborent Group, LLC and Integrated Consulting Services Ltd. He previously owned or operated companies in a variety of industries that include warehousing and distribution.

In 2014, he was named to Crain’s Cleveland Power 150, a recognition by Crain’s Cleveland Business of individuals whose forward-thinking leadership is benefiting Northeast Ohio.

Active in the community, Taylor is the co-chair of the Commission on Economic Inclusion. He also serves as a board member for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission; Greater Cleveland Partnership; Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education; College Now, Greater Cleveland; Cuyahoga Community College Foundation; and the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges.

In addition, Taylor was the founding chairman of the board of directors for the Cleveland Leadership Center and is a former board chair of the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the American Red Cross.  He also is a past chair of The Presidents’ Council, LLC.

Taylor is a graduate of Allegheny College and completed the Executive MBA program at Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management.
