MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Baldwin Wallace offers options for current educators, initial licensure candidates and professionals in the public and private sectors to expand their professional credentials. Candidates will bring their professional practice to a new level, master the latest technologies and enhance leadership skills. Classes are offered in both the traditional seated format and online (depending on the program). Programs can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis.
Graduate Certificates in Education
Online Instructor and Blended Learning Certification
The online instructor and blended learning certification is designed to assist educators and other professionals in developing and improving the delivery of online courses and blended learning modules in a fast-paced world in which remote instruction is increasingly important.
Gifted Education Certification
The gifted education certification is designed for licensed teachers and administrators to learn the tools and skills needed in the general education classroom to better serve gifted learners. This certificate is entirely online and offers flexibility for working teachers.
Program Options
- MAEd with specializations in literacy, mild/moderate educational needs, school leadership, leadership in technology for teaching and learning and science teaching. Current teachers can renew or exchange a teaching license or add an additional license or endorsement through these programs.
- School principals and administrators can add the superintendent's license to their professional credentials.
- License+master's and initial licensure programs for adults with a bachelor's degree seeking to enter the teaching profession. An undergraduate teacher education major is also available.
- MAEd in science teaching — A 12-month licensure program for students holding a bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry, who want to become high school science teachers.
- MAEd in mathematics teaching — A 12-month licensure program for students holding a bachelor's degree in mathematics, who want to become high school math teachers.
- Graduate level, non-degree professional development courses for K-12 educators and administrators
- Courses leading to the school social work license
School Partnership Program
Many teachers enrolled in BW's MAEd programs are employed by school districts that participate in the BW School Partnership Program, providing them with a simplified application process and other benefits.
